We both stopped looking at gaming news because honestly it was too upsetting in 2020. Which is also the reason we stopped the podcast. So we did not know about the ubisoft allegations until after I left for vacation. The reason I chose to take a vacation was specifically because I could not handle reading any more about how half of my mutuals were either sexual predators or their victims. I have my own experiences and I needed to stop exposing myself to things that put me in a dark place.

I do not expect anyone to magically know that, but I did several times ask people to stop sending me info every time someone was exposed as a predator and put filters on my social media. So in a way it was my own “fault” for not knowing. When the video game out, I was still not in a place to deal with and read about the assaults. And honestly I still am not able to.

I don’t expect people to know this, but I also did not expect to have to explain why I did not read or know about sexual assault. And I also did not expect to be put in a situation where I would be actually forced to read these things against my will so I can respond and explain that I was actually trying to not hurt myself.

I do deeply resent that I took that time to recover but I was simply not allowed that. And I know no one knew that but I hope people can understand that I do not want to publicly say “i am too triggered by reading sexual assault all day please leave me alone” because that in itself gives more information than I want to give. But here I am.

I don’t blame anyone for not knowing I just am angry that I was not afforded that space for even 2 weeks.
